A Fully Hallmarked 9ct Gold Military Inscribed Centre Second Fob Pocket Watch With Stop Watch Function. "presented To Or Qms J. (james) Lewis From Members Sergeants Mess Depot The Cheshire Regt On Leaving The Service After 21 Years 1937" The Watch Is Fully Working And Keeps Good Time (-+ 2-3 Min A Day). The Watch Case Measures Approx 4.7cm In Diameter, Not Including Crown. All The Covers Close Tightly. The Enamel Dial Has A Small, Faint Hairline Near The Centre Post. The Movement Stop Function Is In Working Order. James Lewis (73832) Served During The First World War And Left The Service As Indicated In 1937. He Was Recalled Shortly Before The Beginning Of Ww2 And Served With The Cheshire Regiment Throughout The Conflict. He Was Present At Dunkirk And Was Mentioned In Despatches. He Was A Major In 1950 (territorial).
